Whatever the level of your experience or mobility we design our teaching to ensure you enjoy and benefit from each and every practice
We hope to become part of your journey in finding physical, mental and spiritual fulfilment through the practice of Yoga. We work by the principles advocated by the great Yogi's, that "Yoga is universal and is attainable for anybody who really wants it. When the breath wanders the mind also is unsteady. But when the breath is calmed the mind too will be still". We help you to breath. |

Natasha St Paul
NSP stands for Nurturing Spiritual Practice and also the initials of my name Natasha St Paul.
NSP was created after completing my British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Teacher Training in December 2012. As the Yoga industry becomes increasingly competitive (there are an estimated 10,000 active Yoga teachers in the UK), it takes a lot belief and resilience to thrive in this marketplace. My resilience stems from a strong belief in the benefits of Yoga for people of all shapes, sizes and ability. While it is true to say that not all Yoga classes are made for all bodies, all bodies are made to experience the many health and wellbeing benefits of practicing Yoga. There are around 14 different styles of yoga from the the peaceful Hatha to the more high-intensity Power and Vikram Yogas. I teach Hatha, the classic system which includes the practice of yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama). I chose Hatha because it helps bring into focus the need to look in at ourselves and address who and what we are. This principle and practice is the fundamental core of yoga which can often be missed in other teaching styles.. Hatha brings peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. In other words Hatha promotes yoga for the mind body and spirit. |
![]() Hatha encourages positive change in the mind and body. It begins with teaching the basics, how do I stand, how do I breath - but hang on you say, I breathe ever second/minute of every day. Just take a moment to focus on where your current breathing is centered - the discovery may surprise you. The ability to control your breathing is fundamental to understanding where the power of Yoga comes from.
From this self-awareness comes a deeper perception of how issues like stress can constrain your breath, a metaphor for constraining our lives. Students attending my classes, who sometimes arrive feeling harried and tired leave breathing easier and unwound. We are all prone to suffer from the anxieties brought on by the pressures of the workplace and everyday life. We know what it feels like to sit on the edge of the bed at "stupid o'clock" with a racing mind. What I have learned to do is to understand, identify and acknowledge what the causes are and to use Yoga as a key element of coping strategies to deal with the stressors. |
With time and the practice of Yoga, I have been able to develop the physical and mind muscles to keep these stressors in check. By building relationships with my students I am able to pass this learning on through practice.
As a very famous Indian Philosopher - Patanjali - wrote: “Peace can be reached through meditation on the knowledge which dreams give. Peace can also be reached through concentration upon that which is dearest to the heart”. My teaching style is a combination of dynamic movements with a relaxed attitude with awareness of experiencing each moment. The approach I take is to use the practice of Hatha yoga as a means to help you let go of rigidity rather than a struggle to gain flexibility. Flexibility will come naturally when you release and relax, feel, and allow, then experience the healing qualities of yoga. Come with me on this journey. Yours in yoga Natasha nspyoga@yahoo.com |
